Just printing them off now, main differences, Swashbuckling traits and skills (obviously) campaign system and some stndard piratical and 3 musketeer characters and scenarios. A little Gloire esque in that respect

I like the system after being opposed thorugh snobbery, nice quick and easy rules

When I tried to order last night my shopping cart kept saying that I was ordering 4 copies of the rules. When I changed it to 1 copy and hit change the cart appeared with 4 copies again, so I quit trying.
Jane! Stop this crazy thing!

email the rules author, Andrea Sfiligoi. He is always monitoring their yahoo group.

Email address: andreasfiligoi@gmail.com

Yahoo group: songofblades@yahoogroups.com

Very helpful -- he'll get you squared away and will appreciate the feedback on the website download problems.

I use their rules for a number of periods: Song of Blades and Heroes for Dark Ages skirmish, Song of Drums and Shakos for native American skirmish, and Flying Lead for Pulp skirmish.  Easy to learn and very playable rules.

Apart from Flying Lead (for obvious reasons) these are my favourite set of Ganesha rules as they depart from the SOBH one stat for weapons/armour/weapons skill simplicity (which is not a bad thing, just it didn't quite sit right with some genre etc).

Bad thing about the rules is they appeared at the same time as the 3 Musketeer film and have now cost me a fair bit on musketeers and scenery an another new project I really didn't need ... I obviously shouldn't have insulted the authors horse       :)

I am a bit biased as I was involved in the playtesting, but I found my Flashing Steel games to be the most enjoyable of my numerous Ganesha Games experiences so far.

As I dont collect or game in the Flashing Steel era, I played my rough and ready playtests using Star Wars miniatures, Star Wars being swashbuckling by another name really.

An add on for larger actions is said to be under way.

The author Andrew (who is a terribly nice fellow) is currently working on Flashing Steel - Forged in Blood which is for playing larger games in the same era.
