Cthulhu vs. the Soldiers of the Queen
« on: 10 October 2011, 02:10:40 AM »
I'm thinking of starting a CoC game set in a Victorian universe, but up-scaled somewhat fantasy-wise.

Characters would be tougher; more like Sherlock Homes, John Carter and Tarzan, who will not flinch from Deep Ones nor ghouls, and Flying Polyps better think pretty hard as well...

Also, I'd like some minis rules that have at least a passable conversion to and from CoC.

Any suggestions for rulebooks that might help facilitate this?  I have all the figures I need.

Thanks

2nd or 3rd edition SuperSystem from Four-Color Figures should work pretty well for that sort of thing - or maybe adapt Chaos in Cairo, which is a slightly simplified version of the same GoalSystem rules that has some Mythos elements mixed in with the Mummy/Indiana Jones style pulp.

Incidentally, if you want very tongue-in-cheek literary inspiration, grab a copy of That Darn Squid God by Nick Pollota.  Silly and over the top, but amusing in spots.  Also has a cameo appearance by The Winslow, for fans of Buck Godot.
