Here is a little miniature I've had for awhile that might be interesting to some of you. It is a prototype sculpted by Tom Meier back in the 1980s. The miniature is in HO scale, it is 20mm from head to foot, and the idea was that with the amount of railroad buildings available that entire towns could be constructed to play in. Also the relative scale of monsters becomes more realistic. Chaosium decided not to use this scale and instead had their miniatures produced by RAFM.

The mini itself is incredible (like most Meier miniatures are). The detail is so fine that some of it is lost after priming. The book has the word "Necronomicon" on the front even at this scale. The monocle and handkerchief in the front suit pocket are also nice touches.

I shot it next to a Reaper Eldritch Demon to show the scale.

Wow.

There's a few companies out there that do 20mm investigators and pulp minis rather well.  However I've got enough trouble painting my 28mm guys.

It's a lovely figure, and the scale next to the Reaper monster looks right!

That's incredible. I don't know how Tom Meier does it.
