Village Assault
« on: 02 November 2011, 03:40:40 PM »
Finally got around to using my painted LA Minis in a game for my son and a few friends.
A little back ground. Some where in Russia after the  nations  decided to use Chemical weapons on each other. That way people die but buildings may still stand.
With that in mind a group of Ex Russia soldiers heading south, get sidetracked into helping a small village that has seen better days. Think "Magnificent Seven."
A couple of photos of the terrain.

There are four units, each 5 figures of bad guys. They are holding 10 figures of villagers in different buildings around the town.
Two units, 4  figures each of the assault teams enter the village one from each end.

One of the assault team members fires before the teams are in place. That wake up some of the guys in the village.
One of the teams storm the building.

Part 2
All the shooting cause "the Wasted" (zombies) to move to the fighting. These figures are from Eureka. They attack the assault group.

In the mean time the other assault unit using better cover moves into position. But now "the Wasted" are moving all around the village attacking any humans.

One of the buildings is entered and these inside are killed or flee.

The same happens in the other building. Now the bad guys are attacked by "the Wasted" and the assaults teams.

The majority of the villagers were saved at a cost of three assault members. One of the team members was killed by "the Wasted" and turned into one of them.
The bad guys retreated from the village. All in all a fun game. Rules used were a homebrew set that I made up.

very nice. I love the scenarios where the "third group" usually zombies, pops up and caused havoc for both sides. Are those figures called "the wasted" on Eureka, or something else?

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.
The game was alot of fun.
I do need to learn to take better photos, but with practice hope to get better.
Next battle maybe taking pictures higher above the action would show up better.
Also I hope this battle will be the start of a series of battles which I plan to call 'The Trek.'
The heros travel from Northern Russia to the South, with adventures and battles along the way.
