Sarissa Dutch/Belgian range...
« on: 09 November 2011, 07:51:25 PM »
They released these today http://sarissa-precision.co.uk/store/rapidcart/, anyone but me that is a little disappointed? Don´t see any frame for either doors or windows, they seem a little flat in my opinion, even though they are lasercut mdfs... The other stuff are nice but these, I don´t know...

Hmm, the doors frames etc being raised would give the buildings a bit more definition. That said, there are quite a few architecture styles that have the frames fluch with the sides. Is that the case with these? Not my area of knowledge.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Wow. That's a big step down in quality from the last couple of releases. Shame.

Not really. Actually, apart form the shape of the building fronts, there's not much Dutch (or Belgian I reckon) about these buildings to begin with.

But then again, I yet have to see an accurate, or even good approximation of a real Dutch style house (if indeed there is such a thing. If there is though, it sure as heck won't have shuttered windows or exposed beamwork...)

I am tempted to buy from them though, but only the residential urban buildings, which can pass for Victorian style housing, but can also be found in Dutch urban areas...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

As far as I can judge from the pics, I'm afraid you're right.

I picked a couple of these up from March Attack prior to their release and they're actually quite nice. They are a bit on the flat side, but all I'm going to do is make some shutters out of thin balsa to give a bit of relief.
