Introducing animals to darkest Africa wargames
« on: November 23, 2011, 07:54:16 PM »
I have just recently started gaming in Darkest Africa with the Chris Peers "In the Heart of Africa" rules and did not notice any mention of introduction of animals to the mix.  I would assume this would contribute to the confusion of fighting in the bush as well as morale of units when faced with the unexpected.  Does anyone have any suggestions for animals.

Chris wrote rules to cover random events such as rhinos, hippos, killer bees, cheeky monkeys and various other things. Can't remember which magazine they were published in but I can scan my photocopies and e-mail them to you if you like.

twrch: If you have them available that would be great!  I think it provides an added dimension to the game to introduce the true "natives" of Africa.  Thank you!

twrchtrwyth,

Are they very rules specific or are they easily adaptable to our rules?  Not familiar with DA rules.

Gracias,

Glenn

@yancey5, I should have time on Friday to do it, PM me your e-mail.

@Conquistador, What rules are you referring to? They don't seem to rules specific and I think they would be quite straightforward to adapt. If you want a scan PM me your e-mail.

Sorry, I wrote "DA" (as in "Darkest Africa") when that's not the name of the rules.  Should be "In the Heart of Africa" instead of "DA" as "DA" is more the genre...

If it doesn't violate copyright, please send a copy to ZorroGames@att.net please.  If it does then I will regretfully have to pass.

Gracias,

Glenn

@Conquistador, Operator5 has given me permission to send the scans so no problems with copyright.

@everyone, I shall sort this out tomorrow.
