Blitzkrieg Laboratory is releasing some Early War Polish and Germans.
Also inter-War period Gangsters and Police.
Web Store at Gorgon-Studios should be up soon, as well as expanding the Blitzkrieg Laboratory website at:

The helmets look a bit off to me for 10th Mech... They wore German M16 and Austrian M17 helmets.

Will be interested in what the rest of the range look like.
They are off to a good start with the gangsters.

Maybe a little better from the back angle?

Nope, sorry.  They just don't have the distinct break for the lower flared portion.

I didn't spot that when I saw pics earlier.  Darn.

Steve Saleh?

Erm... Not really. Sorry.

The German M16 is rather distinctive. On these figures, as Allen points out, the rear lower portion is not flared enough, but neither is the peak long enough. These look like someone did them wearing the M35...

A real shame as the rest looks pretty good.

However, its the leather coats and Stalhelms that make the 'Black Brigade' so unique.

I think they look pretty good, especially the Cops & Gangsters.

Yeah the helmets are a bit off, though the range has a lot of potential. As far as I know, no one else makes the 10th motorized in 28mm.

Would it be too late to tweak the helmets?

OK, maybe I am the only one... BUT ??? ???
What is wrong with the helmets?

I do not see anything that could not be fixed with some dedicated highlighting...
Sorry for being a bit blunt - but is this not the typical "Rivet-counting" problem of historical gamers?
Aren't you putting the "new" guys down to harshly?

I like what I see, nice sculpting, good paintjob.  8)

cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

Personally I am happy to see anyone bothering making these to begin with, I only added my question if it was possible to tweak them to make them "perfect"  :)

I like these figures too. I like the poses very much, especially from the soldiers.
Good luck with the new range.

It may well be.  As I recall from the greens, the heads had been cast up from a master and used on the various greens.  That's good for consistency, but not if the shape is off to start with.

It's not rivet counting at all.  Helmets have distinctive shapes.  Some are "iconic", as the kids say.  Many miniature manufacturers (in multiple scales) fail to get the helmets right, whether it's a British "battle bowler", a U.S. M1 steel pot, a French Adrian, a Soviet SSh-39 or SSh-40, or the various German Stahlhelme.  It's the rare company that nails it, actually.  At least these do not have the caricaturish, cartoonish faces and poses of some!

I suspect that those who have ever worn one of these (or shaved in one, sat on one, etc.) may be a little more sensitive to the shapes than others.  To many, an historical helmet is no more "real" than an Elvish one.

And these are not "new" guys.  The Gorgon guys have come out with some lovely and well-researched historicals, and the sculptor is very experienced.  I'm sorry that I had a chance to see these (admittedly after the painted ones had already been cast), and missed the helmet.  Not that it would necessarily have been changed; I suspect that was too late.

Allen
