(paper) vertibird in sight

I know there's a lot of mixed feelings on using papermodels on a tabletop, but this test build sure does look good.  ;D

Having given some website my birthday (01/01/1861, if anyone's interested) I see a lot of adverts for Skyrim.

What am I supposed to be looking at?

??? Don't know what went wrong for you, but the URL brings you to a blog and more precisely an article about a paper model of a Fallout vertibird in the making (a fabulous test build that still needs colouring)

Okay, I see now. the URL probably broought you to the homepage of the Blog wich handles all things related to Bethesda (a computer games company) and since Skyrim is (one of) their latest big project...
On the blog use vertibird as search parameter and click on the crazy paper vertibird link to go to the article.

Or perhaps you could post the picture here instead?

I had high hopes the link would show me the template, not the model itself, cause that post is from September 2010......
Tons of other templates over at http://paperkraft.blogspot.com/2010/11/fallout-new-vegas-consumables.html though, just not of the Vertibird yet.

Thanks, Arlequin.

From looking at the pictures (longingly) I'm not sure a plan would have been helpful, the model appears to have followed the same construction rules as a CAD image, i.e. that the guy has largely painstakingly built the model from individual various sized rectangular card 'pixels'. However the level of detail that can be picked up from the photos is far clearer than in-game images, so some aspiring modeller could work from those perhaps?

Technically speaking, if he copied the wire frame like that, would sending the computer model off to a 3D printer not be easier? And then churn out copies or use it as a master to make resin ones? Of course, copyright laws will propably prohibit that, but still.

I'd still give my right eye for one.

Give him a break, he'd have only been four when Lincoln was shot.  :D

Seriously though, where were you when you heard about Isandlhwana?  ;)
