In your games do you play in isolated spots were it is usually just your group and the forces of the Elder ones or do your games spill out into the city were numerous civilians are caught up in the confrontation?

We played a game this weekend where a small team of military personnel backed by a couple Elder God experts were tasked in securing a certain item of power that was being used for nefarious reasons.  When I got to the church we were attacked by some cultists and then a damn Hell beast of some sort.  We'll long story short, the fight spilled out into the streets causing a dozen or so civilian casualties that just happened by and the property damage was massive.  It was interesting to have innocent bystanders fleeing in terror form the gun fire and tentacles.  The highlight of the game for me was that a woman and her child was trapped by the Hell beast and we had the object and the mission was technically won but I opted to try and save the woman and ultimately did but the rest of my men were killed in the process and the item was lost back into the tentacled suckers of the Hell beast.

I guess what I'm asking is that do you allow for unknowns like that in your gaming or are the battles isolated and pretty self contained and direct?  We usually try to play with a GM so side stories and other non-objective actions happen that can adversely effect your mission or standing in a campaign.

Brian

I'll post some pics in a few days of the game when I get them from my pal.

sounds like a great game and sounds like you guys got a lot of inspiring gaming at all :) we just have used from time to time some single Cthulhu elements/monsters in our 45A games but never "forces". Though actually it would be a great fun to play with a Cthulhu gang

Nice Buildings (also a nice Table), who made them?
Oh sure. Everybody's in favor of saving Hitler's brain, but when you put it in the body of a Great White Shark, ooh, suddenly you've gone too far

The buildings are prepainted resin from The Miniature Building Authority.  The German troops are from Jim Bland's early Battleground WWII line.  The civilians range from the old CoC minis, repainted eM4 and West Wind's civilians from their Superheroes range.  The little kid is from a Horrorclix mini.  The new series has several kids in it and I just got the individual ones off e-Bay for next to nothing.  The German vehicles are from Sun Star and the civilians vehicles are 1/50 scale toy toys.  I got stuff from everywhere.

Hi, I love your game report and set up!  Looks like you guys had a great game!

I wonder if you can help me.  I'm thinking of buying the MBA Cafe model.  I see you have one in your collection.  Can you tell me how tall the model is?

Thanks

Fantastic!  :o   The stuff my dreams are made of!

What are those 'pavement'-tiles??

EDIT: OK, road-tiles, actually, when taking another look

Who makes those nice nuns?
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

It is 10" to the top of the chimney.  It's a great piece and I think it is an exact copy of one of the buildings in Band of Brothers.  I think it's the attack on Foy episode.  I get all my MBA stuff from Mark Frampton on e-Bay.  His stuff is all discounted and his service is top rate.  Pull the trigger on this one because it is a beauty.

The roads are from a Christmas village company that I got on a after X-Mas sale.  Not sure the brand but I'll double check for ya. The nuns are from the old CoC line and from a WWII set from Foundry.

Thanks! I'll go looking. I have the Vampire Wars nuns from Westwind, but you can never have too many nuns (that sounded a bit disturbing  :? )
