New SHQ Russians (no, really!?)
« on: January 14, 2012, 04:31:14 PM »
Well, they're new to me at least, and judging from how much there's talk about SHQ on any forums (ie. none), I guess they might be new to you as well. They're late(ish) war Russians in great coats, and look pretty good. Sculpted by Tony Boustead, I think? His style is familiar from CP Models (or whatever they called these days) and others. Also, what's noticeable about them is that they're a lot taller than the old lines, so perhaps they're finally moving towards the larger end of 20mm? They're getting pretty alone in the 1/76 bunch? Remains to be seen if this is just a one off, if the sculptor just couldn't be bothered to sculp so small, or a sign of something bigger (pun intended) to come? Here's a comparison shot with some old SHQ Russians. You will notice the new one in the middle is taller even if the base section (ie. soles of the boots) is lower than the others'?
