Halfling Cavalry Conversions
« on: 15 January 2012, 04:20:49 AM »
If you are an avid halfling fan you will know that one thing that halflings suffer from is a distinct shortage of halfling cavalry miniatures available. I view this as a distinct shame as what could be better than a hard hitting force of portly warriors charging into battle on stumpy legged pony steeds??!!! So I decided to take matters into my own hands and whip up a couple of cheeky conversions inspired by the Bretonian Questing knights. I am also on the look out for more halfling sized ponies to expand the unit so if you have any floating around unused please drop me a line.

Please feel free to check my blog for many more detailed pics of these wee fellows http://halflinghouse.blogspot.com/

Hubbynz, these look great!
 :-*

They look so good, it is hard to tell that they were not made this way.
Nice work, very impressive!

Are you doing a complete unit of these?

(I have a few Halfling cavalry to make myself, but they will be more than a little different to these guys. I will watching out for more, to take a few tips on what figures make the best riders.  ;))

Nice work.

If you are after more ponies, have you checked out the one in the Hasslefree range?

Lovely conversions. The general in particular. Excellent job. The other two are great as well, though I find the Halberd/Axe blade slightly oversized - but what the heck it's fantasy :)

Those Folks with short legs, both Halflings & Dwarfs, deserve a ride. It's good to see you're rectifying the situation, AND WONDERFULLY at that. Keep up the FINE WORK, & keep us posted with your progress.

Fantastic conversion. If you had not said they were conversions I would have thought they were production models. :)

Lovely, absolutely wonderful work mate.  8)

I take it you have already seen the old Grenadier mounted halflings, now available through Mirliton? One heavily armoured knight and a couple of light cavalry with bows.

They also do a chariot and some bagage mules which are quite nice. (Only drawback is the horses are all the same pose.)

I have not and I' think they are delicious  :P
thanks for sharing JollyBob!

Hey Hubbynz, why don't you add to your cavalry a couples of them? It would be super cool...
Even if you seem to be able to create yourself mounted halflings quite good   8)
