Trying WS Ready Mat
« on: 21 January 2012, 06:18:09 PM »
If you have missed the posts on my blog or on TMP I've been trying the Woodland Scenics Ready Mat as a replacement for flock and glue on boards (well my ice board is stuck till I get the icicles done).

Despite trying my best I have to say I love the material the backing is made of but the top coat is not very good for gaming.

First part was here
Second part was here
Last part was here

Do I think I have my monies worth – no
Do I think this replaces other game mats – no
Do I think flock is better – yes

Anyone want to buy a part cut up mat and glue?

Very good review, nice and informative with no bias shown :)

Have you tried just doing terrain as normal and then putting a dot where the centre of the hex should be?  (redzed from steve deans forum did this and it looked very effective)

Thanks for the comments - some of the WS stuff I really like but some leaves me cold!

The only reason I used the hexes is they are spare (at the moment) as the board is based on 100mm side to side and these are 4" and the difference shows :'(
