Inspiration drawn from photos:

Some heads from the chaps at GWM and some greenstuff added in a rather agricultural manner:

Nice conversion.  Reading your blog, I can verify that the chap in the photo is indeed wearing a SBR (Small Box Respirator); the leather leggings you have modelled are referred to as "Stowasser Gaiters"

Cheers, JT! It it interesting to note that in many of the illustrations of the ALH (and other British and Imperial troops) to be found in books, gas protection seems to be missing or scant. My eyebrows raised as I saw those images. There was a thread here recently about the use of gas in the Middle East/Palestine. Clearly the threat of gas attack as taken seriously to have SBRs issued. Didn't sculpt the SBR on this chap.... not enough room!

Maybe he has his packed lunch in it. I had one of those bags as a little kid, and that's what I used mine for.   :)

Lovely stuff, OOS. Can't wait to see some paint on him. I find the eye-candy on your blog quite the inspiration I need whenever interest in painting my Colonial Great War stuff dips a bit.
