Hey all,

Really like this site for some of the ideas that people are presenting and the painting skills some of you display make me feel like a three year old dabbling with finger paints. So, I have decided to open my humble site of figures for your perusal.  Any comments or criticisms will be ignored unless they stroke my bountiless ego.

Enjoy!

Bubba, you are doing yourself down. Your painting style is extremely neat and accurate, albeit in basic block colour for the most part.

I suspect that if you wanted to move to a more advanced technique (layering colours, adding highlights and so on), you already possess the requisite skills - i.e. a steady hand and a good eye for colour and detail.
I'm sure you could be painting to 'the method' in no time - if you chose to. But I'm guessing you probably like the style you use. It certainly suits the sort of figures in your collection.

The Gibbon approves.

But seriously, stuff looks great. Is that the world works city terrain? How hard was putting that stuff together.?

Nice work! I especially like the job you did on the Exiles Sabertooth! I loved that comic until Chris Claremont took it over last year and ruined it. Oh well, he was great once!

Hey All,

Thanks for your supportive comments - I feel all warm and goey inside.

In answer to some questions and queries:

Captain Blood - I think you nailed it on the head with my painting. I do like the style I use as it seems to fit superheroics nicely. Too much detail and it looks too real and not comiccy enough. I have dabbled with layering but I just don't seem to be able to nail it at this time.

Super_Gibbon - Yes it is worldworks city terrain and I found it pretty easy to use. The basic buildings, streets, etc were no problem for a rank amatuer like me. Some of them were tougher, like the gas station, but I attribute that to my lack of skill and patience.

fourcolorfigs - Thank you, I am quite proud of that figure. I made him before Claremont dribbled all over the comic with his flatulence.

Thanks a lot and I shall take your comments on board.

Cheers,

Bubba242

Nice collection.

What's the blimp like thing in the middle of your Crimson Skies stuff? I'm going to take a wild wild guess and say it's a conversion of a Starship Troopers missle?

Jibbery style oinkery which don't make no damn sense.

Hey wolfgangbrooks,

That's actually a gatchapon toy (vending machine) that I picked up in Japan. It's from some famous manga - no idea which one. It just looked like a blimb I could use if I ever get around to playing Crimson Skies again.

Cheers,

If you can, look for a blimp that came out as part of the toy line for Yu-gi-oh. It's about a foot long and scales really well with the crimson skies planes. I've seen them in discount stores as lately as this January.

I've got one converted up, just needs to have the painting finished.
