Slabs of meat for butcher shop?
« on: 02 February 2012, 09:55:54 PM »
Does anyone manufacture metal, resin or plastic slabs of beef, pork and poultry that could be used/hung in a 25mm/28mm butcher shop.  I realize that I'll probably end up making my own, but when I put together my medieval butcher's stall in 15mm, I got lucky and found some HO pieces and was hoping some might be out there in 28mm or O gauge as well.  In my golden years I try to save a little time whenever I can.  Thanks.  Richard

Scurv, looks like it's all jars and cloth, but it was worth looking.  Thank again.  Richard

Try this:

in 1/72 but might be used, too!

some also might be found in the mirliton range. You may find them by Miniaturicum

Might sound a bit daft, but Dolls house accessories can work.
I have used this stuff in the past.
You need 1/48th scale for 25/8mm.
Well, you do with furniture etc, but food at 1/24 may work.
Worth a look.....

There are a few bits & bobs on GW's Kroot sprues that may be useful. Picture here

Richard, I've shifted this from Pikes, Muskets and Flouncy Shirts to Workbench, as you might get more views and replies from the assembled membership over here  :)

Richard

PS. I'm sure I recall some Tamiya / Verlinden joints of meat in various dioramas. But at 1/35th scale, probably a bit big for you!

argsilverson, both suggestions look great.  Thanks.  Doll house and train shops are both well worth looking into, and Richard, thanks for moving this.  Much more productive here, and I will definitely check out the Tamiya suggestion.  Richard

The folks that do doll houses use polymer clay to simulate meat.  I have tried it with some good results.  Just takes a bit of practice.

Hope that helps.

Fenryll has come out with or is coming out with a butcher (FA157) that has some nice stuff, and I found some old Lamming pieces that will work very well.  I'm not sure if Lamming is still around or under another name.  Richard
