15mm Americans?
« on: February 16, 2012, 02:06:08 AM »
Hello. It being the two hundreth anniversary of the start of the War of 1812, I'd like do do a little painting/gaming of some war of 1812 Americans. As far as I know, I don't think there are any manufacturers of 1812 Americans in 15mm (I would love to be proven wrong :D ). If indeed there are none to be found, what would make suitable substitutes for 1812 Americans? I'm looking for regular infantry, artillery, militia, etc. Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Cadet13

Minifigs are 'true' 15mm so will be slightly smaller than AB.

Here is a comparison of 15mm figures for War of 1812

But the AB minis are so gorgeous...  :-*

They have a new Waterloo line which is going to be released at Salute which could go along way for 1812. The problem you have using AB Napoleonics is finding substitutes for Americans in hunting jackets. Eureka's Mexican American 18mm line has some Texas and Mississippi volunteers would could plug the gap.
