Restricted Area!
« on: 18 February 2012, 10:37:32 PM »
Hi to all!

In this project I used only 2 miniatures: a space marine terminator and a genestealer (tyranid).

The idea was inspired in the Space Hulk game, and I wanted to represent the strenght of the terminator searching the xenomorph, who wants to attack the space marine.

The terrain was made with some "trash" materials. I love recycle, hahaha!

1st STEP

2nd STEP

FINAL STEP

I like the contrast that I tried in this scene. The turquoise tones has allowed me to paint different areas and to play with new and better weather effects.

I painted shadows and lights in the minis, but I am unable to extract a few good photos.

I am satisfied with the final result, with the tyranid which rises from the depths, being illuminated for hatch's light.

I hope you like it, because I finished very tired with this work.

Be happy!

Cracking job, though the glow round the terminators eyes is a bit distracting to me, just a minor thing though.  :)

Great Job on the painting, but for me the wall of mesh behind the terminator seems weak and flimsy. Nice effect with the mesh, but maybe some better bracing or a solid panel behind it to make it look more robust. In the space hulk i always imagine the walls being big heavy metal bulk heads, otherwise both races would just punch there way through the walls and go where they want :P.

Yeah, that's excellent. Great weathering/rust/grime. Well done.

When I first saw the structure without the miniatures for sdcale, I thought it was an elaborate toilet for the Genestealer Patriarch  ::)

Great lighting effect on the Genestealer!

The usual goodness, I love the way you show how it develops.  :o
