AVBCW
« on: March 02, 2012, 07:08:08 PM »
I am very interested in playing solo games based on the AVBCW idea of Solway and mixing it in with a German invasion in 1939 (Sealion).

I am seeking some opinions as to how to go about this - I thought I had settled on 10mm using BKC2 rules but keep being drawn to the games using 28mm such as Luddite's recent posting - although rules are a problem.

I see that Osprey are bringing out rules in August - based on 28 mm.

I have been very disappointed with Solway's Brigadier 38 which seem to be incomplete and not well supported at all...........?

Just interested in reading some opinions but am pretty settled on 10mm and BKC  :)

An interesting idea, although i suspect a very British civil war would make Sealion rather easier for the Germans!

I struggled with rules too an ended up home-brewing my own.

The rules i settled on prior to the homebrew were 'Rules of Engagement' by Great Escape Games.

I guess the rules you choose will depend on the scale of game you're planning.
If its BkC you're after Nik Harwood did AVBCW army lists over at SMP  http://www.blitzkrieg-commander.com/Content/Downloads/default.aspx

hi Luddite - I am very familiar with Nik's work on BKC forum and he was one of the drivers behind me thinking of 10mm for the period nut thank you very much for the tip.

Are you intending to share your 'homebrewed' rules at some future point? :)
