Threshold models (New 19-03-2012)
« on: 06 March 2012, 08:58:41 AM »
Finally started painting some Threshold models. These are still work in progress. Haven't got a good idea on how to do the eyes on models this small and make them look good...I haven't done eyes with pupils before.
By the way, I used a flash when taking these pictures, so some details are lost due to over-exposure and shadows.

Great work so far! Looking forward to see them finished in real life someday, maybe at a Ducosim convention in the near future?

Thanks guys, just did some more work on the Priest (he's called Jack Hackett)...did the scarf, eyes and the cross. Still have the base to do.

Dutch translated into English: Ordered the books directly from Uncle Mike, but Battlefield Berlin also sells them (http://shop.battlefield-berlin.de/index.php/katalog/showarticles/43560-1-strange_aeons.html).

At the Ducosim of May 12th perhaps? I reserved that date just in case.

Very nice, Sir!
 :-*

Wher are the minis from?
I am looking to put together some more for my own SA foray and do not recognise these.

Thanks...these are from Artizan Designs' Thrilling Tales range. Very nice models, but to be honest they do need quite a bit of cleaning up compared to other manufacturers. They're 28mm by the way (as you've probably already guessed).

Thanks!

I thought that I was familiar with the TT range, but did not recognise these.  o_o
Seems I am not....

Anyway, your work has made me go and take another look.  ::)
Nice.

Thank you all for the kind words. I'm currently working on the bases, the sand, rocks and final watered down PVA glue layer (to make the flocking nearly indestructible) have been added . Still have to paint the base and add some static grass, but I'm going to do that as soon as the PVA glue has dried...either tonight or tomorrow and then they're finished.

Would be cool, but I'm not sure if I will be able to make it, since it's 6 days before my marriage...
I'll reserve the day for Ducosim though, since I don't expect any complications. :)

Nice start, but I have to say a little heavy on the dip it looks like it's killed the flesh tone highlights which you need to go back and refresh. Also I'd advise basing/sanding before you undercoat, unless you're mounting them on resin scenic bases, easier to paint up and less risk of wrecking your mini pj's.

Be good to see them finished.

I'm just crap with skin tones...redid them a bit and it looks a bit better now I think. Here are the pictures, the only problem I have is that Photobucket makes the colors look less vibrant than the originals, so in real life and the original pictures everything's a bit more vibrant:

Edit: used ImageShack this time which works better.

Do you use the photobucket options to clean your pictures? I am toying with that now and getting some great success.
