Inspired a little more by 300 by Frank Miller (or the movie...) than by history, here are a few spartans from Crocodile games:

Nice painting!

If you need more variety, the Bronze Age Greeks are the exact same scale as the Crocodile Games figs. Great stuff too!

The Shields Work is amazing!!!! But i still prefer the female archer jijij. Really nice collection of persians killmachines!!!
