Sorry  ;)  I have had these on my painting desk for at least 6 month never got around painting them untill now... the pavises I used was from some old GW dogs of war crossbowmen, that was drafted to my mercenary crossbow unit.

Looking forward to see some pictures of your painted handgunners.

Best regards dalauppror

Intersting, I have never heard of that conflict. I Guess that goes with all my Anglo centric view on history  lol.
I will defiantly delve into it now. wouldn't mind seeing some single based figs for some skirmishes and raid actions :D
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

The name of the conflict are realy my invention then I started up my project I wanted a good name for it, but I think it is suitable as it cover the emphasis of it all; "Warfare in Sweden during the period of the union of Kalmar"  Kalmar Union War... ;)

You can find some realy nice info about skirmish play during the Kalmar Union period at this blog from some fellow gamers here i Stockholm http://northern-wargaming.blogspot.se/search/label/15th%20century

Wonderful figure painting and the shields/banners free-hand is superb. Nicely done!

Thanks :)   Small confession to make...Banners freehanded...several of the shields for but quite some have old 40K/Fantasy transers in the bottom that I paint over... ::)

I just had to paint some of the lovely Claymore Casting minis,as I needed 2 more command stands to some Allmoge units I took the opportunety to mix in 2 Claymore Casting minis on each base... Here are some pictures of the first one...

This represent Bengt Gunnarsson of the House of Gylta.

He was never dubbed to a Knight and remained a Squire all he´s life. Bengt are listed among the Swedish Privy Council in 1446 and was married with Martha Andersdotter of the House of Öra. With whom he had the son Peder Bengtsson.

Bengt turned allegiance in 1452 and got in Danish service. He was sentenced in contumaciam to death for treason by the Swedish King Karl Knutsson of House of Bonde in 1453, but Bengt was then in Denmark. He returned in 1458 after King Christian I's accession to the throne, but regained not his office.

As Bengt Gunnarsson of the House of Gylta was a traitor he will most often be seen in command of a Allmoge unit in Danish service...

Of course more pictures at the blog
