Miniature Cricketers?
« on: March 25, 2012, 07:06:55 AM »
Hello all,

I'm trying to track down as many cricketers in 28mm as I can. I've only found four: the LAF Plynkes mini, the two Ray minis from Hasslefree and the Foundry DA one. Are there any others out there?

Regards,

Cadet13

I remember seeing some masters of a whole two teams that were really good but if I remember correctly they were about 20mm ::)  Don't know who they were for either, may have been a game outside of the hobby

They sold the range to SHQ miniatures

But don't ask me in which of the 4 "Flashman" packs he's included ;)

Don't forget the 5th doctor Who. He was dressed in cricket clothing (more or less). anyway if you you look at the Black Tree design range you can find DW599 THE 5TH DOCTOR II (which has him with a cricket bat) or DW501 THE 5th DOCTOR (without). Other manufacturers also made the 5th doctor, but no-one else with a cricket bat afaik.

A great find Tiki Gamer! Thank you!

This brings it up to 6:
  • LAF's Plynkes
  • Hasslefree's Ray
  • Hasslefree's Dynamic Ray
  • Foundry DA Explorer
  • Chiltern (now SHQ's) Flashman
  • BTD's 5th Doctor

Any more out there?

Cadet13, you only need two figures with bats.  For fielders, you just need men in shirts (and sometime jumpers) and trousers, such as Foundry Crimean War British artillery, perhaps, or eBob PoWs?  The wicket keeper is the tricky one, as he should be crouching and wearing pads.  Nothing springs to mind, I'm afraid.

Hammers, that is marvellous!!  :o

Perhaps a conversion on a padded up batsman would do for the keeper?

Take a look at my collection:

Could it have been Subbuteo Cricket?
