Suggestions for mounted lady - 7 Year War era (ca)
« on: 26 March 2012, 01:23:15 AM »
Ohoy there!

I am trying to locate some mounted ladies in 18 centery style, suitable (or close to it at least) for the Seven Year War era. Any suggestions?
Tintin - Pulp Adventures in a orderly fashion
Gallows Falls - Western Village
Eisende - Mordheim costal village WIP
Rome - SPQR & Hail Caesar

Outpost Highwaymen: lady riding side saddle

Yup a nice model though horse may need a swap out as they tend to be rather thin

Thank you for the suggestion, and I might actually order one or two figures to see if they fit with my current miniatures.

However, I found this lady in Alte Fritz blog... anyone know what miniature that is perhaps?

By the way, if any of you have good links to any Friedrich II (Frederick the Great) miniatures (any maker) I would love some info please.

I think that's a Minden Miniature, but I can't verify my guess.

I have been looking through the Minden Miniatures, but cant find anything about a riding lady there. I am ordering a few miniatures from him, and will ask for it.

Ah, thank you very much. Now I just have to figure out how to purchase that lady (sounds a bit iffy, but I mean the miniature ;-))

Tradition of London http://traditionoflondon.com/

At least another mounted lady (holding her hat) appears in the 'Hunt scene'

Don't know if Tradition sells such figurines individually.

Not sure DAF's "Milady de Winter" is not a partial conversion?

Be warned, they are 'Old School', one has to be receptive to the 'peculiar charm' of sculpts done some 50 years ago  ::)

See Eureka Miniatures for your Friedrich needs. They have him playing the flute for his dogs as well as discussing important issues with Voltaire.

Yes I have sort of, by chance, ended up in the wrong end of wargaming again... and have some sort of an urge to have large units of people marching with tricornes and muskets.
We have also started to dwell in to what we like to call Lace Punk... 1750 style Pulp gaming heh, so need some more civilians, ladies and other non miliatary miniatures, as well as many as possible variants of Friedrich II. I will be playing the Preussians I belive hehe.

Oh, thank you very much, some really nice links there, and I see that there are others swiming in the sea of lace and perfume, it also seems that we are not alone with our expressions. We have called this both Lace Punk And Lace Pulp and whatnots, and I suppose it would be not so uncommon in the wargaming world.

I will spend the morning with some nice coffee, toast and marmelade and going through all these links!

@ Galland: if it's true that "In VSF women wear corsets under their clothes, in SP they wear it over their clothes." these are Lacepunk ladies:

Ah we have those here as well, primarely on the "Medieval Week" on the island of Gotland (sort of a festival every summer), wich we usually attend. Usually some very lovely young ladies amongst them.
