I've been working on the terrain for the Thrilling Expeditions: Valley of the Thunder Lizard book and wanted to share a shot along with two close ups of some terrain.

Here's the big shot.

Here are two close ups of some of the terrain pieces.

Very nice indeed.

I wish Grimm did have a book. I'd buy it.

Very nice.

Looking at these terrain pieces and the Grimm's ones, I have decided to re-make some of my terrain for the "Valley that time forgot" in order to improve it...

Great work!

Oh those are cool!  I was just thinking about doing something similar with the cork yesterday for jungle plant bases.  I'm definately going to try that now.

Cork is great. What I like as well is that I can paint it, then cut into it to insert the plant stems and the holes close back up. I've got a ton more to do. Hopefully, I'll be able to show off the whole thing when I'm done.

Rich - thanks for sharing!  I've just learnt another use for cork!
Leftover cork bits are also good for rubble heaps.

Hey Grimm, what inks are you using on the plastic plants? I would figure since the plants are plastic the ink would not stick?

A new shot with some more huts finished and the tile base I will be doing for the whole thing. The tiles are not done yet, I only got the base coat on them. But what I have done is glue 1'x1' cork tiles to pink insulation foam. What I like about the cork is that it provides texture to the base without requiring sand. This means all the terrain pieces will sit flat on it and won't be slightly tipped.
