Problem is the guy in the guns pack has a machine pistol that is a bit early for that time...
You mean the one with the mauser? I thought that'd be a fair weapon for the period :)

No the guy in the middle in DF03  Low Shots.

Looks closer to a scorpion or some other SMG class that is similar..maybe you could call it a cut down thompson and may still go that route.

Yeah, just use it as a Tommy.
Who is going to complain about realism when you have Cthulu gribblies popping out of the woodwork!

I'd go for some better Cthonian models... the ones from Rafm are a bit clunky. The Mid Nor Larvae from Rackham's defunct Confrontation game are much closer to what I'd want, but they're not really sporting enough tentacles.

I'm no gun expert bu it is intended to be a cut down Thompson. I'd be happy to split the packs into any combination of figures if someone wanted a particular mix :)

Sorry to resurrect a past topic, but I was just wondering...how would you guys solve the problem of the size of those beasts? Many of the creatures are descriped as simply giant, how big would be "big enough"? :D

I'd love a Dunwich horror/son of Yog Sothoth (I realise that there are already a couple out there), along the lines of either of these two:

http://www.sectarios.org/wiki/images/2/23/Call_of_Cthulhu_The_Dunwich_Horror,_Bigger'n_a_barn....jpg

http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2011/074/c/5/dunwich_horror__001_by_skullbeast-d3bqug7.jpg

Both are pretty frightening, but I somehow feel that the second one is closer to what is described as an octopus, spider, centipede kind of thing with a half face.

I'd love an upgrade of the flying polyp, one of my favourite mythos monsters. And of the dimensional shambler, the hound of Tindalos, the shoggoth, and the ghast. I love this art (admittedly discovered through this forum):

http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/041/0/9/flying_polyp_by_eclectixx-d4pb270.jpg

http://th00.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2012/114/a/3/dimensional_shambler_by_eclectixx-d4xhs94.jpg

http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2012/096/a/f/hound_of_tindalos_by_eclectixx-d4v6va8.jpg

http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2012/063/8/9/shoggoth_by_eclectixx-d4rr7r9.jpg

http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2012/086/7/a/ghast_by_eclectixx-d4qk2vx.jpg

I do imagine the flying polyp to look more, well, like a polyp, but that thig certainly looks dangerous enough. There are plenty of shoggoth miniatures. I think many sculptors underestimate it, because, in theory, it is just a big blob with many eyes. But they forget the menace of the thing. And that is something that I think the artist above captures in each illustration. Something terrifying and grotesque.

Finally, I think anything Lovcraftian that Avolakia does is on my wish list, even if I don't know it yet.

I'd also love to see something sculpted specifically to represent the not-quite-successfull resurrection experiments of Joseph Curwen In The Case of Charles Dexter Ward:

I think they were quite effectively done in the underrated The Resurrected (1992):

Regarding the Dunwich Horror, there's also this charming interpretation from the CoC Dunwich sourcebook:

On a more sireous note, i would really like some deepones/hybrids that look like the actual Insmouthlook...

Tengu and brigade miniatures then, and smattering of Black cat bases should do you?

Actually, there are a few miniatures around that would fit the bill.

That is pretty close how I imagined it actually. But it is indeed a problem that so many HPL critters are monstrously huge, even improbably so (e.g. the Great One itself, a "mountain [that] walked or stumbled").
