Under Fire Miniatures coming soon.....
« on: 24 April 2012, 02:48:20 PM »
Just got these through the post today. Eight x armed U.K. Police. They will be off in the post tomorrow to be moulded & will be available for pre order in 3 weeks time. Scale is 20mm. There will be 2 x packs of 4 figures each.

Pack 1 : 4 x figures. 2 x sculpts firing the G36 Carbine, 1 standing, 1 kneeling. 1 sculpt with battering ram about to put a door in & finally 1 x sculpt with pistol & shield advancing.

Pack 2 : 4 x figures. 1 x W.P.C. advancing with MP5. 1 x officer standing guard w/MP5. 1 x officer standing guard w/G36 Carbine, wearing foul weather jacket. 1 x commander advancing whilst talking into mobile phone. He wears a baseball cap & carries an MP5.

Hope you like them.

Bill.

A nice set of figures. I like them all except the 'standing firing guy' who doesn't look right to me... his legs are too straight and he's not holding his G36 into his shoulder. The guy in the traditional peaked cap needs to get a bigger one too.

Other than that though, they look spot on, a really nice looking set of figures, especially considering they are 20mm!

I like them very much, i'd disagree with Arlequin on the 'standing firing guy'. Since he is not standing and firing (a common misconception with most miniatures standing pointing a gun) he is more likely scoping in, checking his surroundings, thus why the legs are so straight and why the gun isn't into his shoulder.

The guy who is sitting down, is getting ready to start firing off. Afterall, its rare to shoot standing up straight anyway!

To clarify. The kneeling figure is aiming/firing and the standing figure is scoping/firing (as appropriate to the gaming situation). They were both based on photo's I pulled of the web. Hope this helps.

Regarding 28mm. At the moment I'm concentrating on 20mm. Empress Miniatures, here in the U.K. do a very good range of moderns in 28mm, by the same sculptor to. It may be worth emailing them to see if they have any plans for 28mm police.

I beg to differ... 20mm, 10mm, 6mm and 3mm all make an appearance on my table. Yet no 28mm to speak of ;)

3mm? You paint dust! I am too old to spend my evenings stying to paint anything that small!

Seriously though- if you made UK police in 28mm I would buy them.
