Prussians without backpacks or blanket rolls?
« on: April 26, 2012, 02:43:38 PM »
I really like the Helion 1866 range of prussians over at North Star

but I want some without any kit on their backs (edit - or blanket rolls) so that I can fit these beauties on their backs from Last Stand Convertibles to make Fliegendampf Jaegers

Does anyone know where I could find any suitable figures? Thanks.

Helion are the only ones I know of...

But thanks for posting... 'cause I love those wings!  ;D

No problemo  :D

I'd been hoping to unveil the dastardly Fliegendampf Jaegers as a fait accompli, but couldn't find any suitable volunteers for the blighters.  :?

I am too idle to search but IIRC Thunderchicken asked this very question previously.

None without their kit spring to mind.

I was thinking I was experiencing deja vu all over again, when I was hoping more for Dejah Thoris...  lol

Sadly, my Birdmen of Catraza are still waiting such a conversion.

Why don't you just incorporate the kit into the wing engines and straps?

Look for figures with backpacks (as opposed to blanket rolls) and just fule down the packs and fit your new flying ppacks. The existing pack straps on the figures should work well,

Ironclad do Prussian infantry and jagers with packs

... although any other manufacturer's range with backpacks would work too.

Thanks Bullshott, you are of course right that it is blanket rolls I particularly don't want, and thanks for the Ironclad link - I'd always stopped at the tanks on their site. They look pretty good, don't they. If no one has a better suggestion then I think I've found my victims volunteers  :D

Eureka make some Prussians in their Pax Limpopo range. They have a propeller thingy but their backpack is seperate. They are also wearing flying goggles.

Aren't there any plans for releasing plastic multiposable Prussians ? Perry, Vitrix, Bolt Action (means 'Warlord') or any other manufacturer (except Warganmes Factory :/ ) ? That would be so useful !

 :o

Those wings...

They're...

Beautiful.  :-*

I have some of the Eureka whirlifliegers - the Prussians with windup helicopter backpacks. Only five, though, half a GASLIGHT unit. Need to get more. I also have a few of the Eureka Skywalkers (British with big wings).

And I have ten of the steam jetpack X-squad from Jeff Valent's Great Rail Wars. haven't done a thing with them yet, but they are planned to be either Papal States 'Seraphim' or French Aerozouves. I could use these wings for some other force in the future. Need four packs, to get ten, but maybe if I contact them they could package up ten for me...

Dammit! I don't need a new project!
