Viking Warlord.
« on: 29 April 2012, 07:16:15 PM »
Since the wife has taken the wee man away for the weekend, I've had my first chance to sit down with some paints in about 8 months. Still feeling a bit rusty.   :?

The first figure in my Viking warband for SAGA, thought I may as well paint the man himself, the Warlord. A Foundry figure with a headswap for a spectacle helm, probably the only one in the entire warband. A bit of greenstuff to tidy up the conversion. Shield handpainted (must be mad). Excuse the poor photography, taken on my iPhone.

Still needs varnishing (not really the weather for it) and base flocking.   :D

Apologies if you've seen this on the SAGA forum or Steve Deans, just thought I'd share the love.  ;)
Ray.

Thats a bit special although the shield is very special. I thought you would be painting Gallic or British Celts :)

Thanks for the kind comments gents.  :)
There's quite a few more to come, along with Saxons and Normans.

Gauls are another project along the line Svennn.  ;)

I'm rather embarrassed to have to gush along with everyone else, but it is a rather good looking job and I'm not one to spray praise around like cheap deodorant.
I also, in this modern world of shield transfers, appreciate the skill that went into your free hand shield.
