I like the Somali pirate scene- nicely contemporary, and the wave effect looks really good.

Sweet warfleets too, the giant squid is pretty interesting. I like the dark teal on the Japanese ships.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Chris, what a great idea, beautifully executed  :)

I don't really know what the other entry is, but the painting is bold and bright. Nicely done  :)

Greetings

oh my, Christian, where does that boat come from?

Thank you Dr. I thought turquoise would make  a great contrast to the white and red of the Japanese flag. What I didn't realize -then- was the pain this would mean when painting neighbouring water as with the Ika-Squids. Speaking of water, I'm not overly fond as how the water turned out. I saw such great minis with sculpted water, but somehow my attempts at coloring don't really work.

I don't really know what the other entry is, but the painting is bold and bright. Nicely done  :)
Cheers Captain
The "other entry" are my two Dystopian Wars Forces, the Empire of the Blazing Sun (Battlegroup Kami) and Republique of France (Battlegroup "Nouvelle Volonté")
Always the problem in Round 10 I'm afraid.
But then that's part of the LPL challenge  :)
How to fit in 10+ figures plus a large model - and still make the figures large enough to see the detail?
It can certainly be done, although I agree not everybody manages it...
Yes, that's something I learned in the LPL. It is difficult and yes, I didn't manage it.  :'(
I had such a nice setup in mind called "Ambush", with the French in the middle and Kami circling them. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the pictures "right". I could have entered an ambush picture, but first all of those happened to be too dark. But mostly you would have seen a lot of models and not much detail. This "In-the-ranks" picture was the best I did with assembled forces. I think  I will show a few close-ups of single models when the LPL is done.

Thank you for the comments and Chris, I like your entry too :)

Jo, the RHIB and the Somali skiff are scratchbuilt. I had the stuff lying about since Tactica, all painted and waiting to be shown... The ship hull wall is a piece of scenery as I didn't find the time to build the full post-war freighter I had planned. Water is a bit of bluish transparent plastic trashbag on a piece of bkue cardboard.

I like your DW stuff too, especially since I'm also mainly doing DW stuff right now.
