Conversions using the LAM Steampunk heads
« on: May 07, 2012, 10:02:58 AM »
Well, it was only a matter of time before I tore open a pack of these. Some of you will know that I stock the figures for antipodean Lead Adventurers... the temptation is just too much!  lol

Anyway, here is a conversion I did of an Artizan Wild West figure using one of the VSF heads and some greenstuff:

I had heaps of fun making this guy. There are a few more yet to come which I hope to show you guys soon.

Well, here's the result of a bit of paint on the guy... still not finished yet, mind. But I think the head suits the body rather well!

I've got a couple more waiting on the bench, pics soon!

P.S. does anyone why I can see the pictures warped? They're hosted on photobucket...

Thanks gents... this is getting dangerous now... it's starting to look like a "project"  :o

I've got to say, this first one was from an idea pinched off Pappa Midnight (see here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=10689.msg445852#msg445852). After I saw his conversion of the same figure, well, let's just say it got a new lease on life... literally:

I know most people won't be bothered to do the extra greenstuff work, and with some careful cutting you don't really need to... but I completely botched the head-lop so some extra work was needed :)

And here's one I really like. Another Artizan donor body, with the young scamp's head from the second conversion pack:

I really like these two!

Again, the whole look of the figure has changed entriely and I now have a figure I am excited about using, rather than an unpainted lump of lead!

Have you just cut the head off the ltd edition Billy the Kid figure? That's going to upset a few people that have been trying to get one :D

Looks good though.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Thanks guys!

dewbak: Fortunately it is just the figure from the Hired Guns pack:

so no need to worry about a replacement!

I've run out of donor bodies for the zombies for now, but the next conversion will be some work on a brigade models 28mm Belgian. Although WW1, I think he will make a nice Victorian undead-hunter.

Well, here's the latest conversion:

Head from the Landsknecht command! He'll be needing some work around his neck... I thought his head made sense considering his cuirass!

Any ideas on what else to do to him?

Adding tassets if you can source them (the 6th edition empire infantry plastics had some loose ones, if you should have some)?

Also, the pistol seems too modern, so if you can replace it with a more appropriate one...
