Strange Aeons AAR contest: Tristes Tropiques.
« on: May 09, 2012, 06:48:29 PM »
Hi everyones.
This is my entry for the AAR contest. As I am not a multimedia expert, I made it traditional. I am sorry in advance for the errors of syntax but don't forget that a French man wrote it  :D.

Placing the story in Guyanan is a great idea...and don't worry I am french too.
I wish I were an octopus to paint more miniatures...Cthulhu must be a great painter

Thanks!
For some weeks I wanted to make a French team for the Treshold on the same model than the M.O.O.S.E for England. I chose the name for the acronym S.N.O.O.P. without knowing exactly what snoop meant. Finally it fits pretty well with the purpose of the team.

Thanks for your kind comments. All your works are amazing and were very inspiring for my own AAR and my S.N.O.O.P. project.
Here are colour photos of the teams for the scenario.

The team of the S.N.O.O.P: From the left to the right: Professeur Jerome anthropologist, Anselme Broussard explosives specialist, Jules Rapiere former Legion lieutnant and late Pierre Leo the local S.N.O.O.P correspondant.

The lurkers team: 2 zombies, 4 amazons cultists and the priest/priestess (who knows?)

Excellent. You used Confrontation miniatures for the amazons (excellent idea) but what did you use for the priest ?

Really nice collection of miniatures with great paintjobs.  :-*

It's nice to see less obvious models being used in a SA report so effectively.

Very very nice AAR.  A good friend of mine did some archaeology in Guiana and quite frankly he made the terrain, insects, snakes, and other denizens sound much more frighting than any Lovecraft story - give me a Mi Go any day  lol lol

Thanks a lot for all your comments. I have friends who are making archaeological excavation in Guiana at the moment and what they told me have a certain influence on the choice of the location for this report.

Excellent. You used Confrontation miniatures for the amazons (excellent idea) but what did you use for the priest ?

The Confrontation metal miniatures are some of the best miniatures ever made OMO but they are a bit tall compared to the copplestone and others. The priest is an old Ral Partha figure from their Planescape range (AD&D universe). It represents the Lady of Pain and I thought it fitted well for the leader of a blood cult. The mask on the last page is a pin's sold with the figurine.

This range was quite good too. I will probably use some of them for a scenario set in Egypt.

Thanks! It was fun to make too. I will probably extend the S.N.O.O.P. team soon so, more to read in the next few days.
