These OG figs look prety good and the price is always right:

Do these Lost Tribes 1 to 5 actually represent specific African Tribes or are they just made up.  Same question about the Tribes wearing the big masks.
Clear the battlefield and let me see
All the profit from our victory.

not really specific, as far as I know they're just a sort of Hollywood African ones :)

Which, of course is not a bad thing - especially for all those Tarzan/pulp jungle adventures..... :D

I think "Tribesmen #3" is supposed to be Azande.  The swath of cloth around the loins, the wicker shield, and the west/central African throwing knife makes me think that's the general area for that tribe.  At least I bought a few to go with my Foundry Azande.

Some of the others have that hide shield and robe thing going.  Based on some of the hair styles, Ngoni or other south/central African tribes may be intended.  Might be worth comparing them to Copplestone Ngoni.

But generally, these do have a Pulp Adventure kind of style to them.  Perfect for us!
Sailors have more fun!

Exactly.  My thought was that they must be based off some Osprey book picture somewhere.  I can't imagine that the sculptor just made the costumes up.  It could be that he added more bits than needed (more feathers, fur cuffs) so the tribal distinctions kinda merge together.

Too bad he didn't do a Masai type headgear.
