Double post, but still going strong. :D
A unit of Italian crossbowmen comes along, kindly financed by a local Hohenstaufen supporter. Difficult to mug this time, perhaps because they are hiding in the bushes…

More but sadly no better photos on the blog. Next time there will be some knights. So colour ahead again. Meanwhile, critics and commentators are always welcome!

Double post again. :'(
Hopefully the next unit will cause some more interest, another unit of knights:

These are Italian and German supporters/mercenaries/soldiers of fortune. They have adopted a vaguely wedge-shaped formation – which was allegedly used by German knights in particular.
Some further notes on that and the unit itself can be found on my blog.

And again: Thanks for watching!

But it helps, obviously. ;) Many thanks for your supportive comments!

Anyway, after quite some time here's the next installment: Some footsloggers again, but already the last ones for this army!

These represent a band of German or South Italian mercenaries, formerly employed by poor king Manfred (indicated by their captain's shield). Now it's time for payback, bloody Charles of Anjou! >:(

The blog has some additional photos and information, if you're interested. In any case, thanks for watching!

By the way, all figures so far are from Legio Heroica.

Excellent.  Fine heraldry, and those crisp clean colours must really help 15s stand out on the tabletop.
Back from the dead, almost.
