Yes indeed Samurai were very flamboyant and wore Chinese silk in various hues and colours quite often with patterns. Strong dyes were more expensive and so naturally some liked to show their wealth by wearing such. Taste was also individual with many preferring more colour coordination in their clothing while many others choosing more loud combinations so to speak.
I preferred to go more flamboyant to emphasize the distinction between the Samurai elite and the lower level Samurai(Ashigaru).
The armour combinations I decided on are indeed strong, but not over the top and are actually in the middle of road in terms of colour flamboyancy as earlier periods really went to town in lace colour combinations!

No sir, these are metal Perry miniatures. I prefer metal miniatures in most cases and I can firmly say my Samurai army will be all metal.
