Pirate weapons (for conversions)?
« on: 04 February 2008, 11:28:30 AM »
Hi

Does any company do good 'loose' weapons for the 17th/18th centuries?

I'd like to do some conversions, but I do not know where to look...  :?
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

I'm sure there are others as well, but Front Rank and Black Cat Bases come to mind. I have some Front Rank swords and Pistols, and find them most satisfactory.

There's also Bronze Age Miniatures. They don't actually have separate weapons in the webstore, but I think David will sell you some if you ask nicely. I know he does pistols, daggers and two types of suitable swords for swashbuckling (though one of these is very thin and bendy).

Freebooter makes some very nice looking flint locks, they are rather expensive though.

If on a budget I'd look at getting plastics accessory sprue from Mordheim or Empire Militia, the guns are wheel locks rather than flint locks but they look quite similar. Unfortunately the GW webstore is now completely useless since I can't see bits on it any more.

If you know anyone using Old Glory figures for the ECW they will have a lot of left over sword and pistol hands from the command packs also.
