Aenglish Footmen (update 8/15)
« on: May 30, 2012, 06:22:03 PM »
Aenglish footmen from Red Box Games, these are the first 6 I've finished.  I have two more and Watch Captain Whistlocke waiting in the wings.

And for fun, an action shot:

They are looking fantastic! I really like the colour sheme of the footmen. Great combination of cold colors and earth tones. How did you paint the gambesons?

Dude, those rock!  I've got three-or-four of the un-modular Aenglish awaiting the not so very tender mercies of my brushes.  The new RBG not-Chaos warriors have got me seriously aroused, too.  I'm going to have to start robbing banks at this rate (or become a banker, which essentially the same thing, isn't it?).

Thank you!  I used vallejo paints for the gamebsons.  Started with scorched brown for base color, mid range was scorched brown mixed with cavalry brown, highlights were done with pure cavalry brown, and finally a light wash with black.

I agree with the above: nice figures, and you have made them look very sharp.

The Red Box figure line has some beautiful figures in it, doesn't it?

Nice paint work.
Hope we see a game from RBG soon.
It would give me reason to buy, but i could use them for Dungeon Delve, SobH and Fanticide (and hopefully Skulldred someday.....)

I have vague plans to use GW's LotR rules with them myself.  The HelsVakt are going to be unarmored/scout Uruk Hai and the Aenglish will use the Rohan rules

The Red Box line is my favorite right now.  His style is the style of fantasy that I really enjoy.

Very nice thanks for sharing.

How does Redboxs stuff match up with other companies stuff? They look they would match well style wise with the Darksword miniatures anyone own figure from both companies?

My pleasure, I enjoy sharing our hobby!

While don't have a picture, I can reasonably assure you that the two companies will not mix.  Red Box is the size of GW's LotR and Perry Miniatures, while the Darksword will dwarf them easily (I've painted a number of Darksword miniatures in the past).
