OK, so lately I have mostly prepared miniatures and put on base colours, so not so much fun, but I should have pictures of new painted models soon.

Meanwhile I have begun working on some domed sci-fi buildings. I tried searching for some to buy, but Kryomek models were too small and the other I could find was temporarily out of print at Evil Mushroom Games, so I decided to give it a go myself.

I went to the hobby store and bought some large polystyrene balls.

Cut them in half. (You also see one of the Canlaster models in this pic, more coming soon)

And an unglued prototype for the door part.

I used lot of time trying to make a cardboard door and had no luck, then I tried finding some cheap doors in resin and didn't really find what I wanted and finally got this cardboard design made up. I think it looks pretty good so far and I will just ignore that the doors have no where to slide to (who cares? it looks good.)

Tomorrow I will build up a short entrance and attach it to a dome.

The usual tile adhesive.

One finished bunker... When I have build some more I will add numbers to the doors and make different colour codes on them and probably try to build some connecting coridors for larger compounds.

I think the correct term would be techgloo :D

Other than that, it's really starting to shape up Jonas! Keep it up!

It does look a bit like an igloo, especially in white, but I think the red stripes make it look more like a bunker than an igloo, hehehe

Also this cost me less than £1 each in materials, so I think it is very much worth it  :D

Looking good.

Some times it is the simplest pieces of terrain that have the most impact. This is certainly the case with your Igloos.

Thanks, I already did one more and I have materials to do a total of six, which should be enough... for now at least...
