The lower hull has been changed from this photo. Color is now black, to match actual Victorian-era British warships. Also, I removed the portholes that I added to fix the broken resin ones. I was originally going to make them gunports, but that seemed too heavily armed for such a small gunboat.

Is that solid resin? Plastic champagne coupes may not suffice for stands, I fear.

For mine I used a plastic Margarita glass (bought at Poundland in a multi pack) turn up side down use the stem as the stand the wider "bowl" helps distribute the weight better and as the bottom of the plastic glasses are seperate you have the bottom of another flight stand for anything lighter.

I bought it from another gamer (Skrapwelder), and it had a hole drilled in the lower hull already. Don't know if he did it or if Ironclad did. I was thinking of a simple wooden dowel and weighted 4" base, but the plastic margarita 'glass' idea is intriguing. Maybe a martini 'glass'?

Dozing Dragon: If I recall, it is a Reviresco gun. But I bought it a good four or five years ago. It is being repainted to fit on this ship's deck.

DoctorPete: Well, you won't see the pilot in the wheelhouse, nor the black gang in the lower hull, shoveling coal. But I figure an officer and three or four gunners/deckhands. Need to get some crew figures. I have some armed crewmen from another project, but I want fellows working the gun, etc.

A coupe is the wider/flatter champagne glass that's supposedly been replaced by the tall,skinny flute.

Margarita would be about the same. The ones I find tend to be of a brittle plastic, so anything that's heavy would appear to threaten cracks if not careful on setting down.

Chantyam seems to have experience that suggests I'm a silly worrywort. ;->=

By the way, not VSF, but I saw a convention game that had alien saucers perched on clear, flat-bottomed glasses with a bit of visible twist; my daughter was impressed with the image of suspending energies.

One of the things I like about this model is that it is nice and rivet-y. Several have been chipped off here and there, but I think I am going to leave them off as 'wear and tear.'

I do need to come up with a name. help!
