Galloping major provincials
« on: 17 June 2012, 03:07:11 PM »

I was lucky enough to get a couple of test figures for the new provincials early, so here's my effort at the New York provincial regiment, which saw heavy action in the first few years of the F&I war.

sorry the photos are not great, i got too close with the camera so it looks like i painted the figure with a tooth brush!
cheers

Blimey, I wasn't expecting to see any yet  :D great stuff Derek mate. I haven't even painted any of my spare master castings yet myself, but then, I don't suppose that'll surprise many folk  lol.
The pre-orders will be another 3 weeks minimum before they go out, packs will be available on the website after the pre-orders all shipped.

Anyone wanting to join those who'll be getting theirs early (and at a bit of an extra saving) as pre-orders, you'll find details on the online shop.  ;)

Looking very nice, and the miniature is clearly something that I "need" :D

Great looking paint job sir!  These NY Provincials seem very popular in the FIW community.  I'm looking forward to painting some blue coats after painting so many green coated rangers.

Keep the pictures coming!  I'd love to see some of them in a line with an officer sprinkled in here and there.

Can someone give us all a heads-up on coat colours for the Provincials. I was only aware of blue and red ..

I'll be doing one for the website, but they include other units with green coats including Pennsylvania often with red facings, brown in some NY units, some other units managed red. Blue was the most 'popular' colour and the intended one.

fergal,

I can't do the firing line yet! But here is the "soldiers free" figure done as a NY provincial officer looking at the soldiers shooting skills!

I know that i don't want my Provs to have Red or Green coats. And i'm not that keen on Blue either; looks too damned French for me  ;)
