I use interiors on all my buildings. One suggestion that I can give is to first build all detail within 1/2 inch of the walls.  I also do not make separate rooms.  That gives you the maximum playable area and makes the interior pretty.  In many cases less is more.  Some detail will give the lived in look, but not overcrowd the play area.  Hope that helps.

Having just built an ACW barn with full interior only to have to glue the roof on because it warped after I shingled it using some very nice pre-printed shingle strips from Wild West  http://www.wildwestmodels.com/Shake-Shingles.html I am in 2 minds about interiors.

I like them as they are pleasing on the eye and gamers will appreciate the extra detail.

I hate them as they are extra work and i| want to get on and game.

But, a lesson learned - make roofs stiffer!!!!!

All (bar one) of my buildings have roofs that come off, but I don't detail the interiors beyond the occasional interior partition.

Making buildings with fixed roofs just seems to defeat the purpose and turns them into big line of sight blockers.

I'm thinking about this for so many factors, but one of my favourite quotes about the matter is from "The Rules With No Name" [...] And TwoGunBob says pretty much the same thing
I very much agree with the TRWNN author(s) but I don't really thin TGB said the same. Although one can suspect it boils down to the same thing in the end.

Interiors are pretty to look at and make the whole much more realistic. But they aren't conductive of a smooth miniature game unfortunately, if mixed and matched with "open terrain".

I have lift off roofs but mostly don't detail the interiors. Just move the figures through or line them up with doors & windows. I love looking at the beautiful interiors that some people do here but I think too much detail interfers with play some times.
