From the Leadpile (Barbarians added 3rd July)
« on: June 21, 2012, 07:20:27 PM »
Hi!

I am having a bit of an attempt to work my way through my unpainted miniature pile and have just finished a couple of fantasy figures!

First up theres a Heartbreaker Dwarf Crossbowman. I have a real soft spot for the litte fellow as hes one of the first figures I painted post GW in the mid 90s.

Next up a plastic goblin archer from the old fantasy regiments box. I do like these gobbos as they have more character than many of the newer plastics out there...

I've got a fair amount of bits and bobs kicking around which I am trying to work through and will post updates as I get chance!

All the best!

Great highlights! That's a deft touch.

Very nice indeed, I have many of those old gobboes, none of them look as nice as yours!

One of the rewards of being a Pack Rat & accumulating a massive backlog of minis is rediscovering the Oh-So-Cool stuff that's gone forgotten for years. The two Short Ones of Differing Skin Tones are FINE examples of Old Friends painted up to current standards...nice brushwork & color choices. WELL DONE!

Hi!

Heres the latest additions from my leadpile, some Four A Miniatures:

Barbarians

Flesh Golem

I have also been sorting through my painted figures and touching them up a bit as they got rather wrecked in storage:

Barbarian

Hobgoblin

The Barbarian was originally painted up for a Nuclear Renaissance project that never took off but he will be getting some use now with a Chronopia Sons of Kronos force I have been working on!

The Hobgoblin is a lovely little figure but I need to rebase him so he fits in with the rest of my collection!

I will be posting more soon as I work through my backlog of figures!

All the best!

Nicely done, sir.

I particularly like that Golem.
I placed an order recently with Four A, and now wish that I had ordered that fella.
Great mini, great paintwork!

Hi!

Heres a few more additions! I originally painted them a few years back but had them in storage till recently and when I opened the box found them piled in a chipped and bent heap! After some wailing and gnashing of teeth I have begun repair work on them and have completed the first two!

Dream Warrior

Ice Elemental

I love the Elven Dream Warrior. Hes one of the Chunky Chronopia Elves and fortunately just needed a few little chips covering up. The Elemental is from Ral Parthas Crucible range and only needed basing. Sadly I varnished him and it misted so I had to do a bit of a repair on the repair and may end up repainting him as I am still not happy with the finish!

Oh well!

Hi!

Thanks for the comments!

Heres a couple more additions in the form of Barbarians!

Barbarian Hero

He's originally a limited edition called the Harbinger of the North and was released with Harbinger magazine. Sadly he's the only one I have left but he really does make for an imposing character as he towers over normal 28mm stuff (he's mounted on a 40mm base!)

Viridian Lord

Next up theres a Viridian Lord from Chronopia. I do love the figure and they paint up rather nicely too!

All the best!

Hi!

I shall see what I can do! Alas I am moving house soon so will be packing up my miniatures for a bit but will be able to get my leadpile out of storage at my parents which will hopefully mean a whole new lot of fun stuff to paint!

All the best!
