Old Dude Shock
« on: June 28, 2012, 03:09:39 PM »
Came across a reference (from 1996 article) that Starguard was 27 years old.  That means it came out around 1969 (I was an "end stage" teenager.)

Which means it is currently... 43!

OMG, I feel officially "old" now.

Great games, good miniatures for the time, rules still work for many (I still have issues with some of them but hey I do with all SF rules it seems.)

Gracias,

Glenn

Not quite in the same league, but a student wandered through to my teaching lab this afternoon and it was only after five minutes chatting that I realised she'd left LAST May, and NOT three weeks ago - I've just lost a whole year!  o_o

I was already busy making cakes out of excrement (a colourful Finnish saying translated verbatim) when people who are of that age were nothing much except a cause for morning sickness. But I don't really feel that old. I haven't miniature gamed all that long either, I only started at around 1990 playing HeroQuest. There now that's been told as well.

So it's barely older than me.
I started gaming in the mid-80s, though.  After tinkering with electronics for my early teens.

I've got gaming minis older than a lot of the local gamers.

I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!
