GTA minis?
« on: 01 July 2012, 02:35:48 AM »
Are there any rulesets, and/or minis from a set company that can work for the Grand Theft Auto videogame series?

Okay,  I can honestly say I never thought I would see this kind of post.

No ideas and given the description of the game content I must say I am at a loss as to which elements of this game you want to recreate.

Gracias,

Glenn

Maybe some of the modern street toughs from Copplestone? I don't have any specific recommendations for individual figures though.

I would try using 20mm or 1/72 Hot Wheels toy cars. Stan Johansen has some armed gang members and civilians in 20mm. 15mm moderns might also work with thicker bases.

The Flying Lead ruleset (Ganesha Games) would work for squad sized gang fights and might work for making a "hero" for scenario and missions.

Gang War I would imagine.
I've thought about this before actually as the gang wars in San Andreas (easily the best game in the series so far and one of the best videogames ever released) are really fun and would work with just about any modern/near future skirmish ruleset.

Might try this thanks. ;)

And, Conquistador, I guess there's a first time for anything then. :D

I'm just waiting for the next game, and for 8 months, this is all me and my fellow fans have had.

Yeah, the day after the trailer came out, I looked up the song for download.

Obelisk Miniatures has some nice Gangers in 28mm that should work.

And have a look at the foundry street violence range.

There's the odd figure in TAG's modern range too. SWAT, terrorists, organised criminals etc. Worth checking out anyway.

Great miniatures but quite small, they look like teenagers but maybe they were intended to be youngsters.

That worries me then. I was looking at them, due to the Armorcast websites logo for them being based on the GTA logo.

So, with me having just finished the game 15 minutes ago, and knowing now that it's all about bank heists and whatnot, this project came back into mind. These are some things I want to represent:

-FIB (The GTA version of the FBI)
-US Army
-Merryweather (GTA Version of Blackwater, Xe International, or whatever flavor-of-the-day name they go by now)
-N.O.o.S.E. (DHS)
-The Lost MC
-Ballas (Street Gang)
-The Families (Street Gang)

And that's all so far. ::)

(Maybe some of the cults as well)

I'd look for zombie survivor type miniatures. Improvised weapons etc. hasslefree is the first that springs to mind.

Some of the West Wind Roadkill stuff might work for the Lost MC: http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=106_107

Black Hat has some civilians, some should be a good starting point for gang member conversions: http://www.blackhat.co.uk/online_shop/index.php?cPath=121_122_143&osCsid=49759ae5f1cefa2eafddb969bc386a2d
