Sinbad minis?
« on: July 04, 2012, 08:06:48 AM »
Well I've started building myself a Corsair ship, and now need some arabic/barbary corsairs to man it. Particularly I'm looking for some Sinbad like. Any pointers?
Cheers,
Duncan

Some of the Foundry pirate fit the bill very well, you just have to pick and choose but unfortunately normal pirate are mixed in with the Barbary looking ones  ::)

There's the Saracen faction from "Hell Dorado":

Reaper's "Dark Heaven Legends" line dribbled out about a dozen good "Arabian Nights" figures over a few years.  I'm not sure if this quick search catches all of them:

Steve Barber has an "Arabian Nights" range:

Brigade Games' "Daughters and Sons of the Desert":

Black Tree Design does a range of fantasy Saracens:

Black Tree also does a range of historical "warriors of Islam" intended for the 2nd and 3rd Crusades.  Other useful historical manufacturers include Perry, Musketeer and Gripping Beast.
Back from the dead, almost.

One Reaper figure that Arabian search doesn't capture is;

and the Sorceress on a Flying Carpet.

When my Hail Caesar Arab list is up, I will run her as a leader in a unit. The Reaper Arabians are certainly nice as is Almah.

Plastic GW LOTR Corsairs of Umbar might fit the bill quite well:

Reaper has a not-Sinbad, but I don't remember what they called the figure.

Thanks again. I think I've found the ones I want after a bit of hunting and searching:

A good selection, decent sculpts and good prices.

I just bought one each of the Newline pirates. They were good figures with little flash and fit in well with the Eureka ones.

IMHO Urji would be Sinbad while the other 2 would be deputies. Don't forget Almah, Merchant princess, as his love interest.  ;)

RAFM has a Wizard that looks like he's just escaped a Sindbad-Film: Click me!

there also some Pathfinder minis that fit to a Sindbad setting, like:
