More Perry Napoleonic releases
« on: July 13, 2012, 01:49:10 AM »
Four packs of Austrian hussars in both full dress and campaign dress, plus an additional pack of charging Hungarian fusiliers. More Austrian, Prussian and Russian Napoleonics to come over the next few weeks according to the Perry newsletter, along with some medievals (presumably the Italians the twins have been previewing lately) :

Are the pelzen on those Husaren separate from the figure? As in, they could be fielded in dolman alone?  :P

According to the Perry's site, the figures are 1-piece sculpts, except for the sword arm--so no, the pelisse is not a 'separate' glue-on item.  You would have to carve it off, and repair the dolman with greenstuff, in order to convert to your requirement.  There are, however, Austrian Hussars offered in 'campaign' look, wearing the pelisse (rather than with it 'slung' over the shoulders).

Greystreak, there are 2 sets of Husars. The first set has the 1-piece casting and the separate sword arm. But the second has a separate horse and rider and appears to have a separate pelisse.

Can't say for certain since I haven't seen the figures in the metal, but it looks like the pelisse may be a separate item in the case of hussars in full dress. Hard to tell from just these pics though.

Err... Actually it says right on the site that the pelisses are separate. Maybe I should READ before asking questions.....
