Long overdue introduction
« on: 16 July 2012, 04:34:45 PM »
Hi everyone,

This is a very belated intro thread. I joined a few months ago and just started posting like I had always been here. I was brought here due to the fact that the Strange Aeons official forum is hosted here and very quickly branched out to start looking at the other sections.

I've run a blog for years (http://obsidian3d.blogspot.ca) which was primarily used to coordinate the group I run for VS System. I've kept that group running for almost 3 years since UDE cancelled the game but over the past year things have really dwindled. I think it may finally be time to move on to other things.

As I said, Strange Aeons brought me here in the first place. My local shop of choice is trying to build a SA group that plays on Thursdays, and we are lucky enough to be joined by Uncle Mike once every month. I've really been having a good time with SA and it has rekindled my interest in miniature gaming and painting in a big way.

My first exposure to mini gaming was 4th edition 40k and a little Hordes but I didn't play either much. I am trying to help build a new beginner WarMachine/Hordes group at my shop, and am planning on getting back into 40k with 6th edition.

I've also recently picked up Empire of the Dead and SuperSystem 3rd edition. It's an exciting time in my gaming world right now. :)

Well I guess it's not neccessary to say welcome to the forum now that you'Ve been here for a while ;)

It's nice that Uncle Mike joins you in your Strange Aeons group (never say "SA group" because... you know...) ;)

I might be interested in starting Empire of the Dead as well, or possibly Wolsung, after my current list of projects has shrunk a little ;) So I'm looking forward to see your efforts in bringing the game to life!

Cheers

Robert

Feel at home...  ;)  ;D  :D

I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Welcome :) Great to hear about you branching out into the darker, but infinitely more interesting, corners of the hobby... LAF seems to have that effect on people :)
