Fallschirmjäger Painting String
« on: July 31, 2012, 03:07:23 AM »
C&C welcome...the goal for this is a quick paint job, table worthy. I picked mid war camo of the Splittermuster 41 using the tan angle. Overall, I am happy...I do need to finish the base, touch up a few spots and detail the eyes.

The Camo looks good, might benefit from a coat of matt varnish. Is this para at 28mm scale?

Looks good to me.  Agree about the matt varnish but realize you have some work left to do.  I always chuckle when someone's "quick" paint job looks better than my "slow and concentrating" paint job.  :)

Thanks, most of my painting style as I said is table worthy, some people think it is more than that but I've always seen better than my own hand...

Working on the other 7 MP-40's and a Radio guy now to do in one batch. Figure the next batch will be either my FG42s and STG44s or special weapons or LMG teams...not sure yet...figure the riles will be last.

Thanks Anatoli,

Just finished up the other MP40s and the Radio guy last night with washes....figure some light touch ups, eyes and basing and on to the next batch. I plan to post pics of the finished figures...

Here is a group shot of the finished MP-40's and the Radio operator. Still need to finish the eyes but a very minor thing. More pictures on my blog: Dice of Legends.

Nice. They look good as a unit!

Which brand are they? I don't think I've seen these before...

Black Tree Design, so far my experience with the company has been excellent. Fast shipping from Texas to Florida. If you register on their website you get their email ads that tell you what is on sale. I also got a bonus 10% off when you register so when I caught their WWII 1/2 off sale I got 60% off my order. They have very reasonable prices.

I have heard of some people having some issues with the company but I think that happens with any company.

Keep watching my blog as I paint up more and you can see their quality. I am adding the company to recommended vendors on my blog.

Nice figures Styx, the ratio of rifles to Smg's was about 3 rifles to 1 Smg (sometimes) so you need to rifles out there!
Also what troops are you going to field against those Paras?

My friends have British Infantry 8th and my  other friend has US Airborne.

Danke TG,

I was just showing my brother the figures I painted as he painted them when he was in his teens but the was the 1/72nd stuff he is boggled by how small I can paint and without anything to help my vision.

I hope to be back home tomorrow and I can pick up the paint brush again.
