Modesty Blaise

Hi guys, anybody know if there is are any Modesty Blaise and Willie Garvin minis produced, or 'not' versions.

Not that I know of.  One of my "someday"plans is to make a Modesty by swapping the head from Artizan's not-Amy Winehouse onto the not-Emma Peel from the same range.  For Willie, either the guy with the shaggy hair from the same pack as not-Amy, or the not-Steve McQueen from Rogue Miniatures, with the pistols replaced by knives in both cases.

I can honestly say, I've never heard of this lady. However I noticed they do these books at the library so may have to reserve and take a look at one.

Modesty Blaise was, quite simply, the best action-adventure comic even run in the newspaper strip format (it reads just as well in collected volumes).  I strongly recommend the volumes drawn by original artist Jim Holdaway.

Peter O'Donnell, who wrote the strip and created the character, also wrote a series of novels and short stories about her.  These are very, very good, but not, in my view, quite as exceptional as the comics.

Joseph Losey's film Modesty Blaise bears little or no relation to the comics or the novels.  A much later film, My Name is Modesty, is creekily low-budget but rather truer to the character.

I guess Tarantino is a fan, as John Travolta is reading Modesty Blaise on the toilet just before Bruce Willis shoots him in Pulp Fiction.

A version of her and Willie have recently appeared in Charles Stross' Laundry series, The Apocalypse Codex. Its why It was why I was enquiring.
