If you do scratch built terrain, the turned wood/woodsies section at Hobby Lobby/Michaels is your friend. So many shapes and things that are so easy to disguise with a paint job. check it out. They glue with craft glue, take paint amazingly well, and are cheap.

Turned wood/woodsies? Are you talking about in the Scenics area for Rail Roads and such or are you talking about the woof craft area with the pop sticks and balsa wood? Better direct me in my local store when I head there to Hobby Lobby!
