The sacrifices made by our people have certainly not been in vain, for Holland has shown the world that she is willing to sacrifice her wealth and her blood for the high ideal of her independence. - Dutch Commander in Chief Order of the Day, 15th May 1940
So, finally got enough bits together for a game with my Dutchmen (see
http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=37878.0 )
Rules used were Disposable Heroes. I must admit the more I play DH the less I like it; we played two games here and after the Germans were mown down in the first we tweaked a couple of bits (harder to score a kill) to right what seemed to be some glaring wrongs in the game.
German infantry platoon supported by a Panzer I attacks a bridge over a canal somewhere in Southern Netherlands, held by an infantry section and a field gun (with Carden-loyd tractor).
First game - PZI was blown to pieces by the first shot of the Dutch gun (serves me right for driving it down the middle of the road) and the Germans were cut down as they tried to gain the canal banks. Dutch win.
Second game - after changing a couple of shooting modifiers we changed sides and gave it another go. This time the Germans were able to cross the canal and take the Dutch trenches after an assualt. German win.
The Carden-loyd was knocked out by small arms fire on both occasions...
Pictures in a rough chronological order.

Not only have I finished a project, I've actually managed to game with it!
